Managing Tinnitus Distress: Join Our CBT Workshop

Tinnitus Support - Whitstable Hearing

Are you struggling with the emotional distress, anxiety, or sleep disturbance caused by tinnitus? While there is no reliable method to completely turn tinnitus off, how you respond to it determines your emotional course.

Join our upcoming Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) workshop, which provides an evidence-based treatment for tinnitus distress. Led by Elizabeth Doggart, an accredited CBT Therapist, this structured, practical, and skills-based course will give you the toolkit you need to manage your symptoms.

What to Expect and Key Benefits

Over the course of three sessions, you will work to understand the powerful connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. The benefits of attending include:

  • Learning Habituation: You will understand the stages of habituation, a process where your brain learns to ignore the tinnitus because it happens often and isn’t harmful.
  • Reducing Emotional Reactivity: The workshop focuses on helping you reduce distress and redirect your attention away from the ringing.
  • Building a Practical Toolkit: You will learn core CBT skills like “Catch It, Check It, Change It” to manage automatic negative thoughts.
  • Practicing Mindfulness & Relaxation: The sessions incorporate grounding techniques, the 4-7-8 deep breathing method, and visual guided imagery to soothe your nervous system.
  • Re-engaging with Life: You will learn how to gradually reintroduce meaningful activities into your weekly routine, lifting your mood and shifting your focus away from the tinnitus.
